Steps to using Military Tuition Assistance at La Verne:

  1. 听Apply for and be approved to use TA benefits via your branch’s Virtual Education Services Center
  2. Apply for and receive admission to the University of La Verne. An admission counselor will be assigned to walk you through each step.
  3. Receive Academic Advising and Enroll into approved courses.
  4. Request a TA payment voucher from your branch’s Education Service Center.
  5. Submit your approved TA payment voucher to La Verne, using our .

Military Tuition Assistance (TA) Refund Policy

The Department of Defense memorandum of understanding requires that the university 鈥渉ave an institutional policy that returns any unearned Tuition Assistance (TA) funds on a proportional basis through at least the 60 percent portion of the period for which the funds were provided. TA funds are earned proportionally during an enrollment period, with unearned funds returned based upon when a student stops attending.鈥澨�

Submit your Request for Active Duty T.A. Authorization & Voucher听for each semester/term you plan to use T.A. You must be admitted to a degree program and be enrolled in classes prior to submitting a TA voucher using this form.

Tuition Assistance & “Top Up”听

Active-Duty students can utilize their Montgomery GI Bill Active Duty or Post 9/11 GI Bill to pay tuition in any Session or Semester. This process is referred to as 鈥淭op-Up鈥�.听 Top-up is best used when you have exhausted Armed Forces (TA) funding for the fiscal year, and you do not have an alternate funding source (such as grants & loans via FAFSA).听听You must determine your eligibility for this benefit with the VA. Students using ‘Top Up’ will submit a A Enrollment Certification Request听form听in lieu of an approved TA voucher.
